African & Caribbean Cultural Workshops for Schools
Kulchalee Arts delivers engaging African and Caribbean cultural workshops through drumming, storytelling and creative arts.
Workshops are interactive, educational and designed to inspire creativity, cultural understanding and confidence in students.
Workshops/Sessions are available for primary schools, secondary schools, SEN schools and specialist education settings across Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. and
Kulchalee Arts can also travel throughout the UK where travel costs are covered.

Morning Assembly
An interactive African and Caribbean drumming and storytelling session introducing rhythm, culture and traditional stories.
Class Workshops
Smaller group workshops where pupils take part in drumming, storytelling activities or creative cultural art sessions.
Creative Storytelling
Students create their own stories inspired by African and Caribbean folklore and act them out through drama and performance.
Closing Performance
Students share rhythms, stories or creative work from the day.

African & Caribbean Drumming and Storytelling Workshop
An engaging cultural workshop combining African drumming, Caribbean rhythm and interactive storytelling. Students explore traditional rhythms, stories and cultural traditions through music, participation and performance.
Workshops introduce students to traditional African and Caribbean percussion instruments including djembes, different types of African drums and shakers.

African & Caribbean Literacy Storytelling Workshop
An interactive storytelling workshop inspired by African and Caribbean folklore. Pupils explore traditional stories and then create their own characters and stories which they act out through drama and performance. These sessions support literacy, creativity, speaking and listening skills while helping pupils build confidence, self-expression and cultural awareness.

African & Caribbean Creative Art Workshops
Hands-on creative workshops inspired by African and Caribbean art and culture. Students explore traditional patterns, symbols and creative techniques through activities such as stonecast model art, tie-dye, Adinkra printing, recycled & sustainable arts and other cultural crafts. These sessions encourage creativity, cultural learning and artistic expression.

Cultural Enrichment Days
Kulchalee Arts can deliver full cultural enrichment days for schools combining drumming, storytelling and creative arts workshops.
Students can experience a range of activities throughout the day including African and Caribbean drumming, storytelling sessions and hands-on cultural art workshops.
These workshops are designed to engage pupils through music, creativity and storytelling while helping develop confidence, teamwork and communication skills.
Workshops can be delivered as individual sessions or combined into a full day cultural experience.

Workshops can be delivered as individual sessions, half-day workshops or full cultural enrichment days.
Group Size
Sessions can be delivered to whole assemblies or smaller class groups depending on the school’s needs.
Space Requirements
A school hall or large classroom is ideal for drumming and storytelling workshops. Art workshops can be delivered in classrooms.

All instruments, materials and equipment are provided by Kulchalee Arts.
